The Single Years
I remember our first Valentine’s day that my hubby and I have when we first started dating. It was simple but special. It consisted of a dozen roses, box of candy from Fannie Mae, dinner, movie, and a stuffed animal. Another Valentine’s Day, I received a dozen of roses, box of candy from Fannie Mae, a romantic dinner, and expensive gift. One special Valentine’s Day I received my roses but over a romantic dinner, he asked my to close my eyes while he told me how much I meant to him. When I opened my eyes he was on one knee and in front of me was a crystal music box with two crystal swans in a heart shape with a diamond ring in between the swans. What did I say? Yes!!! We got engage on Valentine’s Day! Romantic? Definitely, one of the best.
The Married Years
I have been happily married to my hubby for almost 9 years. We have did the expensive dinners and gifts. Now what I love for Valentine’s Day is time and gifts of the heart. It’s not how much you spend but the meaning behind the gift. Does the simple dinner and a movie do it for me? Yes, it does. It’s about spending quality time with each other. Taking the moment and just enjoying it. Do I like roses? Of course, but he could get them anytime for me paying high market up value I can have two dozens instead of one. I still like a romantic letter or poem. What comes from the heart reaches the heart. This Valentine’s Day give the gift from your heart to your Valentine and make this one memorable. I know I will. Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
